I ordered a Macbook Air around a week ago, the price was good and they even price-matched a price reduction after the order was shipped.
The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 stars is it was delivered a day late because Lifestyle Home Appliances didn’t dispatch it until a day later, even though I had a notification beforehand saying it was with the courier.
This is seemingly because Lifestyle Home Appliances won’t actually dispatch an item until after they’ve called you up to verify your name, address and email, after which they try and get you to buy some extended warranty.
I have ordered from hundreds of other retailers before, including those outside the UK, and I’ve never had a retailer call me beforehand to confirm my name, address or email, which they already have from the order.
In 2026, this is a massive waste of time and the behaviour feels quite scammy if I’m honest and initially I hesitated to believe the call at first, but after the guy confirmed exactly what I ordered down to the colour and amount of RAM and storage it had, I assumed it must be legit.
Once the call was complete, I was informed it would be delivered on the day and I would shortly receive a delivery time-slot.
I waited around 2 hours and had no delivery time-slot, so I called Lifestyle Home Appliances up to confirm if the prior phone call was actually legit and when I’d get the delivery time-slot. I was informed that the call was legit but that the delivery wouldn’t be today and it would instead be delivered tomorrow, and that I’d also signed up for the extended warranty, which was false. I specifically said I did not want any extended warranty.
I then emailed in and requested written confirmation that I wasn’t signed up for any extended warranty or insurance programs, which I did promptly receive.
The Macbook then arrived a day later and everything has been fine since, including a price-match as Lifestyle Home Appliances dropped the price shortly after I ordered, so there is a silver lining in that as I’d have never checked otherwise if the order arrived on the day it was meant to.
I just don’t see why they need to call up to verify information they already have before they can dispatch the order. Also used the EXTRA10 discount code for an extra saving.
